A couple has come up with a novel way of sending out wedding invites by allowing potential guests to choose from a series of tick box questions, not only indicating whether they are coming but also why.
The humorous little invite offers the guests a chance to ‘reluctantly accept’ the invite, including reasons such as only liking one of the happy couple or because it would mean having to rearrange their entire schedule.
Couples will often want to be in control of whether guests will be coming with a date, but this RSVP allows them to find out exactly why their guests are coming alone, or with someone. Reasons for attending alone include hoping to meet someone at the wedding or simply because their partner is busy.
The question of whether invitees are bringing their kids is also asked, and the option to bring imaginary children is offered too – something even one of the best wedding photographers in Lancashire would have difficulty capturing on camera.
Given the unusual technique, the couple kindly allowed those invited the chance to rate the RSVP they had been sent with options such as it being ‘mildly confusing’, ‘oddly humorous’ or as being akin to the Spanish inquisition.
The unusual invites were initially uploaded onto Reddit and have now been viewed by over a million people, perhaps giving couples planning their own wedding some food for thought when considering how to make their own invitations seem unique and give a personal touch.
