Equestrian Horse Bridal Shoot
Feel the wind in your hair and sun on your back, enjoy these images and styled bridal shoot I organised with one of my brides Ash and her horse Riley. Taken in my local town and Beach, Ainsdale.. I photographed Ashleighs wedding in 2018 but had the idea of shooting a Horse Bridal Styled shoot for some time now.
I knew it needed to be bridal, local, on a beach and use local wedding suppliers. I mean how often do see you see a Bride riding a horse?
Magazine Feature
I always wanted to involve local wedding suppliers and work as a team, being a wedding photographer in Liverpool for over 13 years I have built a great network. This helped me get the exact look and visual feel I needed. I proposed the idea to Ash and she was of course, fully on board. Boutique Brides of Crosby, a fabulous wedding dress retailer, jumped at the chance to be involved when I invited them. But choosing the right dress was key. Nothing too big or too tight, remember Ash still needs to ride the horse and be safe. My friend Laurie, from Flowerstyle by Laurie in Formby was also happy to make Rileys (The Horse) his garland. Ash had a great idea to include a headband from her friend business. The Style Cove Moy, provided the most beautiful headbands seen in the article.
Riley, he’s a Grey Irish Race Horse
Riley, the horse, is a male Irish grey race horse. He’s 10 years old, him and Ash are completely inseparable. He was truly fabulous on the day and even came with his entourage of handlers, and of course family. Ash has had Riley for many years and was actually bought from Ireland. There isn’t a day that goes by that she doesn’t see him. Just a shame he couldn’t be there on her wedding day with Jay at Peckforeton Castle.
Sunny morning for a bridal horse shoot
We completely lucked out. The weather was fabulous. Starting at 10am, the sun was in the perfect position but also a perfect colour. Being low down allowed me to achieve silhouette images but also use the sun for flair. But most of the shoot was in direct sunlight. One areas of photography most photographers avoid…. Direct sunlight. But if your ability is at a high standard and you love the sharpness the sun delivers. The results are fabulous, crisp well lit images.
