How to choose a bridesmaid’s dress that photographs brilliantly
Picking the bridesmaids’ dresses for a wedding can be one of the key factors in setting the tone and choosing the colour scheme.
They form such a major part of the scene, which will then be reflected in the images captured on camera by your wedding photographer in Liverpool. So how can you make sure you opt for a photogenic frock?
Always the bridesmaid
Make sure you don’t forget the bridesmaid herself when choosing the dress. Does she like it and feel comfortable in it? If so, she should look happier in the pictures.
After that, consider whether it complements her skin and hair. The last thing you want is her looking washed out, or a dress that clashes with her natural ginger or dyed pink hair.
The bigger picture
It’s also a good idea to consider your venue, as this will form the backdrop for your wedding photos. While you may hope and pray that they can be taken outside, what’s the back-up plan if it rains? Try to visualise the dress set against the grounds or interior of the venue. Will the dress complement the location, or will it clash?
Accessorise
Your bridesmaid will also need suitable shoes and flowers to tone with the dress. Will your preferred blooms go well with the selected outfit? Can you find shoes that will match, or would a neutral or metallic shade still look good? What about jewellery?
The aim is to create a harmonious look for the big day, and once you’ve done that, we can capture it to its fullest at Matthew Rycraft Photography.
