Two people are taking their wedding day to all-new heights – by being married 80 feet above all their guests whilst balancing on a high wire.
Phoebe Baker and Chris Bull, from Bristol, will have their ceremony conducted by a registrar using a megaphone from the ground, and the rings will be exchanged using a pulley.
Chris has been walking the high wires for over 15 years, though only began to teach his fiancé Chloe four years ago. Both are reportedly feeling confident, as they chose to organise their unique wedding by displaying their skills.
The blushing bride said of the wedding first:
“It has been a dream for both of us ever since I met Chris and he taught me to walk on the wire. It is a tradition for high-wire walkers but it hasn’t been done in England ever.”
The wedding will take place at the Wookey Hole Caves. The couple spent many months organising the event, though the owners of the venue were delighted to assist in any way they could to this most original of weddings.
Given there is a fair distance from the wire to ground level, the couple will surely be careful to ensure that they have hired a professional to skilfully take their wedding photos. North West England may have missed out on this wedding first, but there will be a range of locations in the region that will surely be keeping an eye on this type of event to see if it takes off.
