A Californian couple were stunned recently when their beach wedding was interrupted by a helicopter retrieving a man from a nearby cliff.
Happy pair Jihan and David Chesher were just about to mouth those special words ‘I do’ when, behind them, a Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter rushed to the aid of a climber who had unfortunately got himself stranded on the cliff next to the beach.
Speaking to CBS news, David told reporters how he had reacted to the sight, commenting:
“I see the nose of the helicopter coming around the side of the cliff, I grabbed her hands and I said, oh, you’ve got to be kidding me.”
A professional wedding photographer from Liverpool, or the surrounding area, knows more than most the importance of timing for a great shot on the big day, though it’s certain that nobody could have planned such an unusual photo opportunity as this.
Although it’s an extraordinary event to occur in the background of a wedding, it does allude to the unknown factors that are at play when hosting an event outside. Some people may enjoy the spontaneity that such a wedding provides, whilst others may want theirs to be inside where there is a little more control over the surroundings.
Those planning their wedding will have to decide what kind of venue suits their personality, either as a couple or as two individuals.
