An online video of a groom’s speech went viral after wedding guests spent a year pestering the happy couple into uploading it.
Steven Brodie told himself he was going to do something a little different when he decided to marry his sweetheart, Rachel, in a ceremony held in London at the Royal College of Surgeons in December 2013, and created a heart-warming and hilarious video for guests to enjoy.
The video kicked off with Steven singing an altered version of the hit Bruno Mars song ‘Marry Me’, and then continued with the groom making a heartfelt declaration of his love. The bride’s brother helped with the montage, which alluded to the couple’s first meeting after they were set up by mutual friends.
Steven said of his new bride:
“From the second I saw you sitting on that bench at that embankment station I got a stomach full of butterflies – and, well I thought I had no chance.”
Indeed, speeches are an important part of a wedding day as they often provide the guests with an insight into how the happy couple’s relationship has developed. A professional wedding photographer from North West England will be able to capture these special moments, so that in years to come, the bride and groom can look back upon these heart-warning, and often hilarious, moments.
For those grooms who are nervous about their upcoming speech, they can see Steven’s video in full on the Daily Mirror’s website.
