A mayor in a southern Romanian town has caused a bit of a stir by using a local football team’s stadium for his daughter’s wedding, leading to their fixture being re-arranged.
The town, Târgu Cărbuneșt, was considered to not have an appropriate venue to host the wedding party – which involves over 1,000 people – so the mayor decided to use the local fourth-tier football team’s stadium to host the event.
Whilst members of the team may be wondering why they have to travel over 20 miles for a home fixture, it appears that the family in question has come up with a novel solution to the oft-repeated dilemma of where to host a wedding.
Much like hiring a professional wedding photographer from Cheshire or the surrounding area, booking a suitable venue is a must for brides and grooms to be.
Football stadiums certainly would provide plenty of space to host the party, though people in the North West will certainly not have the same problems this couple had when looking for a suitable venue, as there is certainly plenty to choose from.
The couple here chose to spruce up the stadium using red carpets, chandeliers and a marquee, and it is this that perhaps hints at the more ‘DIY’ element employed by couples these days to make their chosen venue appropriate to host a wedding. This is becoming more of a trend within the wedding industry, with people often now choosing less traditional venues for their special day.
