Sky’s documentary series Forbidden Love recently showed the uplifting nuptial story of transsexual couple Jamie Eagles and Louis Davies.
Bride Jamie was born male and groom Louis born female, though both had gone or were undergoing gender reassignment when the cameras rolled to document their special day, as well as its build up.
Both Jamie and Louis were open about the difficulties they had faced growing up trying to understand why they were different, as well as the battles they faced to be accepted by their family and the wider community.
The couple spoke to the Independent about their decision to let in the cameras:
“We want people to have a sense of what our lives are really like, so that when they talk about transgender issues, they are more informed.”
Although the couple faced more issues than most during the preparation of the wedding, what the documentary shows is that regardless of what personal issues surround tying the knot, the planning itself can often be a stressful and difficult time. This is why it’s essential to hire a top wedding photographer from Manchester or beyond to document the special day.
What Jamie and Louis have shown though are the hurdles that people are willing to jump for that happy day to declare their love in front of their family and friends, and this is something that should always be recorded for everyone to look back upon in the years that follow.
